Living and Studying in Miami

«Our plane landed on August 11th, 2016. We were really excited because we were going to US for the next three months!! When we arrived our host families were waiting at the airport. This is when our real experience started!!

The next day we went to St.Brendan’s School and we met the six Italians, the other international students. We also did a tour around the school and Miriam Smith (the teacher in charge of the programme) told us a few things about these three months that we are spending here.

Days after we went to see the sunrise at Nikki Beach, although it wasn’t what we expected it was a nice time and we got to know the Italians and the Americans better.

A week later we started school on August 22nd!! Since then we have been living the traditional American life, going to school, taking the tests, studying… Well we don’t really study because we have learnt everything that they are learning, what an advantage!!

The school is super cool, they have a lot of activities, for example, this week is Green and White Week, where the Green and the White team have to defeat each other in some games. On Friday it is the last game and the final score will take place. We want to see who the winner is!

In two days we will do a car wash to get some money for our trip to New York that will take place in two weeks. We are really excited about it and we can’t wait to go.

We are learning so many thing here, in America everything is different. Although we miss our families, this time here is great. We don’t want to leave!

To sum up, this is an amazing experience that personally the six of us who are here want to recommend to everyone in the lower grades. Study hard and you will have the chance to experience what we are living!!
